scholarship schemes at PCM SD College for Women: A lot of students are academically bright in spite of being financially weak during their college studies.. To help such students, the college provides various types of scholarships, stipends and fee concessions. The purpose of these facilities is that the education of any deserving student should not be hampered only due to financial constraints.
Facilities for Economically Weaker and Meritorious Students
The college provides liberal scholarships and fee concessions to economically backward and academically excellent students. Apart from this, the facility of paying fees in installments is also provided under special circumstances. All these are facilities that are awarded on merit-cum-need. In order to take advantage of the same, the students must apply the prescribed form that is obtainable at the college office. The application dates are announced during the session.
‘Satya Prem’ Gold Medal and University Merit Based Scholarship
Academic excellence is promoted through awarding the students who take first position in Guru Nanak Dev University (G.N.D.U) with a medal, called Satya Prem 24 Carat Gold Medal, by the college. Besides this, concession in fees is provided to the meritorious students at different levels:
- First Position in University: Exemption from entire University fee
- Second Position: 50% exemption from college fee
- Third Position: 20% exemption from college fee
- Other Merit Holders: 10% exemption from college fee
Merit based concessions at entry level
Fee concessions are also given at the time of admission to college based on the results of board exams:
- 95% and above marks: Exemption from entire University fee
- 90% and above marks: 35% exemption from college fee
- 86% to 89%: 20% exemption from college fee
- 80% to 85%: 10% exemption from college fee

- Physically challenged student: 50% discount in college fees

Government Scholarships
Higher education is aided by the State Government in the form of scholarships to deserving students who are having poor economic backgrounds. The following schemed can be applied through the mentioned conditions of the government of Punjab:
- Post Matric Scholarship (SC/OBC)
- Scholarship for Minority Group (Sikh, Muslim, Christian, Jain, Parsi)
- Indira Gandhi Single Girl Child Scholarship (for PG first year girl student)
- Scholarship to Sanskrit students by National Institute (HRD Ministry)
Eligibility conditions for Post Matric Scholarship:
- The annual income of the parents of SC students should not exceed ₹2.5 lakh
- For OBC this limit is ₹1 lakh
- Affidavit of income should be certified by the Executive Magistrate
- Employed parents must submit income certificate from their employer
- Photocopy of final examination certificate, caste certificate, Aadhaar card and bank account details is required
- The girl student should be a permanent resident of Punjab

Terms and Conditions for Fee Concession
There are some important terms and conditions for fee concession, which students must know:
- Fee concession will be applicable only on full course fee; Special fees charged by the University such as examination, registration, recognition etc. will not be included
- Additional fees will be charged for practical subjects
- Scholarships or concessions can be cancelled in case of indiscipline, poor attendance or failure in examination by any student
- If a student is entitled to more than one concession, only the highest concession will be valid
- Concession will be given only once in a course/class
- A student who fails in an examination will not be given concession again
- If a student leaves the college in the middle of the session, she will have to return the concession amount given
- The limit of scholarship in professional courses like fashion designing will be decided by the Scholarship Committee
