The English Department of our college organized a lecture on Rabindranath Tagore on the occasion of his birthday. Mrs. Indu Tyagi delivered the lecture to the students on the life of a phenomenal polymath and his exemplary contribution in multitudinous fields of literature, philosophy, composition, painting, to name a few. A cultural reformer, a gifted educationist and a visionary, he was the first Indian to be awarded with the Nobel Prize in Literature for his poetic anthology ‘Gitanjali’. His poetry largely encapsulates themes of truth, devotion, nationalism and omniscience of the Supreme Soul which won him international acclaim. The lecture proved fruitful in memorializing the intellectual brilliance of a sage way ahead of his time.
